Deeper Instructional Design

Wendy’s blog notes from a presentation by Clark Quinn is a great follow-up to my recent post about Donald Clark’s comment regarding “clip arting” courses to death. Among the points I’d highlight here are:

We can’t “create” learning
– We can design environments conducive to learning.

Can’t dump a bunch of knowledge on people and expect anything to change or retain.

And my favorite:

Keep your ideas simple. What can you trim down to make your point?
