— William A. Ward

Thanks for reading!

Screen apnea: What happens to our breath when we type, tap, scroll

Are you breathing right now? If not, it could be due to screen apnea, which is a term coined by Linda Stone to describe shallow breathing while using screens, like when typing, scrolling, or watching TV. We often focus so intently on screens that we forget to breathe normally. This can lead to stress and health problems like a faster heart rate and not getting enough oxygen. To avoid screen apnea, you can take regular breaks, practice mindful breathing exercises, and maintain good posture.

🎯 Take away: Shallow breathing while using screens can cause stress and health problems, but taking breaks and focusing on your breathing can help.
